After

13.9K monthly organic visits (+122%), 723 ranking keywords, and citations across Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and Gemini — with 40 pages picked up as AI-cited sources.

The starting point

10Q Challenge is a JEE and BITSAT mentorship brand in a genuinely competitive EdTech niche — up against household names and large coaching platforms. When we began, it was a young domain with a low authority score, a small keyword footprint, and effectively zero visibility inside AI-generated answers.

What I focused on

Three things, in order: fix the technical foundation, build real topical authority around the exact programs students search for, and structure the content so both search engines and AI systems can understand and quote it. That meant clean crawlability and internal linking, dedicated pages for each program and exam, and clear, direct answers to the questions students actually ask.

The SEO result

Organic traffic grew to about 13.9K visits a month — up 122% — across 723 ranking keywords, supported by 112 referring domains. For a domain this young in this niche, that compounding is the part that matters.

Getting cited by AI — not just ranked

This is where it gets interesting. The same authority work that lifted rankings also made the content quotable by AI. 10Q Challenge began appearing as a cited source inside Google's AI Overviews for high-intent queries like "BITSAT mentorship program" and "JEE mentorship" — sitting alongside far larger brands.

What Search Console showed

Search Console: 6.18k clicks and 50.8k impressions with a rising curve

A Search Console snapshot during a growth phase — a steep, sustained climb in clicks and impressions rather than a one-off spike.

The honest takeaway

Nothing here was a trick. The AI citations followed the same fundamentals that drive rankings: a technically sound site, genuinely useful content, and clear signals of who the page is for. In a niche moving fast toward AI answers, being the source the AI trusts is quickly becoming as valuable as ranking first.
